MY TOP 5 REASONS TO HOLIDAY IN MALAYSIA

We all want and are looking for a holiday that is going to be cheap and of course it has to be a nice spot to. I recently holidayed in Malaysia and I'll give you 5 top reasons to holiday there. I like holidaying in Asian countries as with the exchanged rate it is in no doubt one of the most cheaper, affordable places to go. I chose to vacation in Malaysia because of it's reputation of having fantastic shopping malls and modern clean facilities.

The first top reason to holiday in Maylasia would have to be the shopping. In Kuala Lumpur there are shopping centres/Plaza practically on every corner that have ten levels. They are very modern and clean. Every toilet has a hose in it for washing which is there version of a Bidet. A tip for when travelling to an Asian country. Carry around a packet of tissues and a packet of wet ones/Anti-bacteria wipes too as not all toilets have paper and soap.

But the best places to shop to get the best bargains would have to be the markets. Make sure that you shop around and most importantly convert everything and bargain the price. I cut the price down on everything I bought to half of what they are asking at the markets in china town and the night markets as well. As the saying goes "you get what you pay for" but if you pay $10 for a watch and you look after it then it should last. don't wear it in the water or even splash water on it as you will find that it's not water proof even though it says water-resistant on it as we discovered. As when you buy imitation things you have to be extra careful with the goods. Shopping at the markets was a shopaholics dream for me. I found fantastic and very nice handbags, luggage bags watches, belts, jewellery and clothes. Another tip, would be to pay cash for everything, then your credit card won't leave your site and you will feel safe and secure. Just carry around will you the amount of cash that you need with you for the day and hide the rest of it in your hotelroom. I withdraw cash bit by bit out of the ATM machine and found that the bank just slug's you will overseas conversion fees, so you might just want to make one big cash withdraw at the start of your holiday.

My second reason to want to holiday in Malaysia would have to be the cost of living. I found it very cheap to eat there. the cost of living in Penangis cheaper than Kuala Lumpur. A Big Mac Meal was about $3. how cheap is that. you can eat in the local restaurants very cheaply too. You might want to try and avoid eating at the hotels if you can as you have to pay double tax. which is 16% on the price that they are charging for meal or drinks. example is the buffet at the hotel might say RM59++. The plus signs are the double tax and that will be per person too.

My third top reason to holiday in Malaysia would have to be the snorkeling at Langkawi Marine Park. I found there to be pristine crystal clear waters on this Island and the best snorkeling that I have ever experienced. I have snorkeled at the great Barrier Reef in Australia a couple of times and found the Marine life in Malaysia to be a lot better than I have personally experienced. there is a lot of species of fish swimming around you that are very colourful. It would be a great spot for scuba diving as well. there is also an underwater observatory at the Marine parkand a boat that takes you onto the beach so It is family friendly as well. to reach Langkawi Marine Park is one and a half hours ferryride from penang. the ride was very smooth we didn't even feel it. .Price is $100 for the day which includes a seafood buffet lunch, ferry and snorkeling equipment. Well worth the day trip. Perfect enjoyment for the whole family as you can feed the fish as well.

My fourth top reason to holiday in Malaysia would have to be the cheap cost of hiring a scooter on Penang Island. we were charged $10 for 24hrs. How cheap is that. the scooter was relatively new. we just topped up the petrol. I don't know anywhere else in the world that you can find scooter hire cheaper than that. And two people can fit on the scooter to. great enjoyment for only 10 dollars what a bargain.

My fifth top reason to holiday in Malaysia would have to be the friendly and polite local people. Even the hawkers were polite. People weren't pushy and if you weren't interested in buying anything then the sales people would back off. they wouldn't keep pestering you until you bought something like I have found when I holidayed in Bali two years ago.
